Kaitlin + Ryan

Kaitlin is a family friend of ours that we knew when my family still lived in Chattanooga about 20 years ago. OMG, I feel old. I was 14, going on 15, when my family moved, so I didn't really get to grow into my own, you know, until after we left the city. But part of Kaitlin's family lives in the Nashville area now so we've kept in touch especially when they've had events and they've asked me to do hair and makeup for them. I did hair and makeup for her middle sister's wedding over a year prior. So I was really happy when they asked me to do it for Kaitlin's wedding. They originally were going to get married in April 2020, but they postponed it to August 2020.

We did the trial run in March so we could really narrow down what kind of hair and makeup look she wanted.

Products used:

Nars radiant longwear foundation in Siberia, ColourPop pretty fresh concealer in Fair10C, RCMA no color powder to set Benefit Hoola bronzer, ColourPop My Sun and My Stars blush and CA Dreaming highlight, ColourPop brow pencil in Champagne Blonde, ColourPop Bare Necessities palette on the eyes, Inglot #77 black gel liner, mascara, Kiss individual cluster false lashes, and ColourPop lip liner in Oh Snap topped with Bobbi Brown lipstick in Sandwash Pink.

Updated makeup:

Nars radiant longwear foundation in Vallauris (she got a spray tan, so I had to color match her again), ColourPop pretty fresh concealer in Light45W, Sydney Grace blush in Peaches n Cream and highlight in Golden Wonder, Morphe brow pencil in Biscotti, eye products remained the same, and Rimmel lip liner in Epic topped with Charlotte Tilbury matte lipstick in Pillow Talk.

Here are some notes I left myself with how I styled her hair considering we did the trial in March and the wedding was in August. I needed something to help me remember. Haha. And I really thought it was useful information, so maybe there's something out there who agrees with me. I curled lower half of hair with curling iron, then used small wand to curl the top half and sides. Used taffy to smooth out curls on top. Pinned in half up first, then pinned more from sides, then attached hair donut unrolled and finally pinned the rest of the back to form the bun. Sides were twisty and pinned around with some tails hanging out.

On the wedding day, the bride told me she wanted the hair to be more smoothed out with the curls in the crown section. We made the adjustments and you'll see in the photos at the very end. I LOVE this kind of hairstyle. It's right up my alley.

And now that you've seen the trial photos, here are some side-by-side photos of the other makeup I did on the wedding day in August. First up is her grandmother.

Second up is one of her besties, Jessica.

Third up is her baby sister, Sarah.

This is her mom. I forgot to take any pics of her hair since I styled it for her, but I wanted to share these as well. Aubrey did her makeup.

Aubrey also did the bride's middle sister's makeup.

Here is another bridesmaid makeup by Aubrey.

Almost finished, but here's another bridesmaid makeup by Aubrey.

And here's the last bridesmaid makeup by Aubrey.

I know it's early April, but I finally got some pro wedding photos back from the photographer. I've got a few to share with everyone and I'm just really blessed to still be a small part of this family's lives even 20-something years later.
