I was contacted by this sweet bride's fiancé, Ray, via text message about doing hair and makeup for their wedding coming up over the summer. I usually get inquiries through one of the wedding apps or on social media, so it threw me off just a little bit. But I'm glad I responded because this couple has had one crazy ride called 2020. When the tornado ripped through East Nashville back in March, this particular family's home was in the path of destruction. They lost everything and it was devastating especially when 2020 was supposed to be the year to celebrate their upcoming marriage. They moved into a temporary home and decided to push forward with planning. One of the local wedding venues decided to gift them a wedding ceremony out of the kindness of their hearts. Like is that not one of the sweetest things you've ever heard?
So I met Sabrina and her two daughters at their home to do hair and makeup and it was a moment in time to just forget about the hardships they'd already endured, a moment to soak in all the surrounding love of that special day. I'm just beyond grateful that they chose me to provide hair and makeup on a day like that.
And while I'm not sure if I'll be able to get any wedding photos back since the majority of this blessed day was gifted, Ray did send over the link to the coverage by Fox News. This couple deserved all the love on this amazing day and it just warms my heart that there are still kind people in the world.
