Brittany + Travis

Brittany was referred to me from another wedding vendor and I'm always happy to have that connection. She reached out wanting to have her hair and makeup done for her engagement photo shoot session in November 2019. She told me up front that this wasn't a trial run and didn't plan on doing a trial run, but that these are different looks she wants for each day. I'm here to make whatever dreams you have reality. She requested relaxed curls and I was hoping my magical hot tools weren't going to fail me because her hair was kinky curly. For the most part, hot tools will smooth everything out. But lots of times, with hair texture like that, you have to blow it out with high heat and high tension so that it locks it in place. But luckily for us. hot tools worked in our favor.

Brittany and Travis met on Tinder in 2018 and I swear there are more and more success stories from these dating apps. They give me so many sketch vibes that I'm not even sure I'd try it if I were back in the dating pool. Thankfully I'm not, though. She works at the Department of Child Services and she's got to have the biggest heart to do that kind of work. I always love getting to know my clients.

Here is a list of the makeup products I used for her engagement day look. Products used: Temptu s/b airbrush foundation in no4, ColourPop no filter concealer in Medium 22, RCMA no color powder to set, Tarte Park Ave Princess bronzer palette, Mac Melba blush and Soft & Gentle highlight, ColourPop brow pencil in Dope Taupe, Makeup Geek shadows on the eyes (Cocoa Bear in the crease, Creme Brulee on the lids, a dark brown in outer corners and along lower lash line, and Shimma Shimma in the inner corners and under brows), Inglot #77 black gel liner, brown in waterline, random waterproof mascara, Kiss Shy lashes, and ColourPop lippie stix in Lumiere with no liner.

And I should've taken the "before" picture actually before I curled her hair because it's got a pretty kinky texture, but oh well. Love it all smoothed out!

I know there was a HUGE gap between the original date when I first met Brittany and when the wedding day was finally able to happen, but here are some wedding day "before-and-afters". The makeup and hair above was for her engagement photos, and I knew ahead of time that she didn't want the same look. So that's why they look different. It wasn't that she didn't like the first time, she just wanted two separate vibes for her engagement session vs her wedding day.

And here are the fab makeups that Aubrey did. I absolutely love working with her on weddings! Amber also assisted me doing hair, but I didn't get any photos back from her. But that's alright and I'm sure we'll still be able to see the hairstyles once I get wedding photos back from the photographer.

Brittany emailed me over the weekend with some wedding photos that she gave permission for me to post online. I love all of these photos! The original wedding date was in June 2020, but it had to get pushed to April 2021. And this gorgeous venue was Iriswoods in Mount Juliet.
