Meredith + Jake
I've known Meredith since she was born. Our families used to live in the Chattanooga area and went to South Seminole Baptist Church together. My family moved from East TN when I was 14, going on 15, so she didn't remember much of me since she was so little but I do remember her. Her parents moved to Mount Juliet several years ago and Meredith decided to move in with them and start a new adult journey in this part of the state as well. It's crazy how things come full circle, right?
Anywho, Meredith's older sister was the one who reached out to me about booking hair and makeup for her November wedding. When I met Meredith for her trial run, she told me she has not once had her expectations met when she's had her hair and makeup done in the past. So I straight up told her that I'm here for her and that she needed to be 100% honest with me about what she likes and doesn't like. As artists, if someone tells you they like smoky eyes, for example, my version of smoky can be different from your version of smoky. So I like to talk through a lot of the steps so that both parties are on the same page. I don't ever want to get it all done, show you the final product for the first time, and you don't like it.
It was safe to say that Meredith loved the final product. I encouraged her to be open about her ideas along the way of the trial and I love the end result just as much as her! Below is a list of the makeup products I used for her bridal look.
Products used:
Temptu s/b airbrush foundation no4 and a tad of no6 mixed, ColourPop no filter concealer in Light 14, RCMA no color powder to set, Tarte Park Ave Princess bronzer palette, Mac Melba blush and lightly applied highlight in Soft & Gentle, ColourPop brow boss pencil in Light Brown, Mac Vanilla pigment with ColourPop You Had Me At Hello palette on the rest of the eyes, NYX black gel liner with a tiny wing, brown shadow on the lower lash line, mascara, Kiss Shy lashes and Urban Decay comfort matte lipstick in Backtalk.
And with her hair, I teased the top portion, used her own hair as the base of the bun -- she had tons to spare! -- and then started placing twisty pieces to form this pretty look.
I'm still waiting on more photos, but here's a sneak peek of a small handful. I'll post more once the photographer is finished with the others. Fun fact about the photographer, he was the photographer for Meredith's dad and step-mom's wedding as well!
