Three different smoky eyes

I got to do hair and makeup for the boss lady --> Kristen Fonville! As you probably already know, I do a lot of beauty work for her and her boudoir clients. She's an AMAZING photographer. Seriously. I came in for a session at the end of April and like 10 minutes before I arrived, the client had a family emergency and had to cancel. So rather than Kristen just telling me to turn around and head home, she asked that I do hair and makeup for her own self. HECK YES!

She had the idea of doing different makeup looks because some clients aren't 100% sure what they want. Of course, I personally think that the eyes need to have a sultry feeling to them due to the nature of the shoot, but we can still go more natural. So I decided to do three traditional smoky eye looks on Kristen.

The first is more of a taupe/grey-ish eye look with all matte eye shadows. Matte, in case you didn't know, has no sparkles or shimmers or shine of any kind.

The second is more bronze with brown colors, but this time we added shimmer eye shadows.

The third we went crazy and added a bold color choice. I chose a dark pink color because her eyes are brown. You could literally put any color on your eyes and it would look great with that eye color.

BUT, can you see that all three looks are generally the same concept? You start out with a light brown shade in the crease (the area where you eye socket meets the bottom of the brow bone), a medium shade on the lids (or you can go lighter color on the lids for something more natural looking), and then something darker in the outer corners to "smoke it out". Then apply a dark liner, mascara, and some falsies. And just depending on your preference with lip color, you can go nude or something bold with look 1 or 2 would be beautiful!

Here's what I used on Kristen:

Mac prolongwear nourishing waterproof foundation in nw20, NYX pro hd concealer in Light, RCMA no color powder to set, Tarte Park Avenue Princess bronzer palette, Mac Melba blush and Lightscapade highlight, ColourPop Dope Taupe brow pencil, < Look 1 - Tarte Tartelette pro eye shadow palette on the eyes, Mac Coffee eye liner, plain 'ole mascara, Ardell demi wispie falsies, and NYX Nude Beige lip liner topped with ColourPop gloss in Curvii > < Look 2 - same base and brows, eyes are LORAC Unzipped palette on the eyes, and the rest the same as well > < Look 3 - same base and brows, eyes are Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette on the eyes, Elf black gel liner, same falsies, and lips are NYX Nude Beige lip liner topped with Marc Jacobs gloss in Sugar >.
